Ashford District - Support for children with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities
What We Do

Our Ashford District STLS team provide a supportive service to children and young people that experience sensory difficulties, physical disabilities or complex needs. The service is made up of experienced professionals who work closely with teaching staff and parents. Our team provides a range of services such as assessments, interventions and training for both teachers and parents.

The team is divided up into 4 areas of need:

-
Communication and Interaction
-
Social, Emotional and Mental Health
-
Cognition and Learning
-
Early Years

The STLS teachers with the greatest experience and knowledge in these areas are assigned to those that need extra support in that specific area. The teachers will often team up to provide extra support to children that are struggling in more than just one area within the classroom.

The main aim of our STLS team is to build capacities within schools to ensure all children are able to reach their full potential and succeed in their academic and personal lives.
